Bro, you forgot to buy boots!

This is monster hunter for me. I keep hearing the game is amazing, one of the best ever, and all that. I boot it, lengthy over elaborate introductions later I finally fight some monster. Then it tells me I need to team up with others to fight monsters and I just noped the fuck out of that game.

This was what it was like when I tried First Descendants last week, eventually I just ran around talking to everyone until some waypoint showed up, went over there and killed things and just went waypoint to waypoint. Then I got bored and uninstalled it.

Yeah, mmos can be kind of stupid.

The decision to do away with manuals was one of the stupidest in gaming history. (Note: I said “one of”).
Some years ago, a friend bought me a copy of a game called Insurgency, which specified (in-game) that “destroying enemy weapon stockpiles” would “help you win”. Okay- how?
Were they enemy spawn points? No.
Were they enemy resupply points? No.
Did destroying them affect the enemy respawn count, or counter? No.
Did destroying them blow open walls, making enemy buildings easier to attack? No.
So I went to check the manual, but of course, there wasn’t one. Okay, then, the forums? There didn’t seem to be any official ones. The company’s site just linked to… the wiki. “Wiki”, from the Latin word meaning “we’re too lazy to explain our game to you, so we’re going to let other players do it for us”.
And the wiki just said “It is believed that destroying enemy weapon stockpiles helps win matches”. Even THEY didn’t know!

When Back 4 Blood tried to teach me about using cards before letting my shoot zombies I knew I wasn’t going to like it.

And when you go to the controls menu, it just shows you the absolute basic controls, not what the combinations of buttons do, despite the main parts of the game needing those inputs.

This is just Destiny 2, right? I haven’t played anything else that bad

What kinds of games is this describing? I’ve never experienced something quite like this, tbh.
I’m actually in that point of my game. I thinks it’s kinda complex and I really wanna dumb it down to wow or casino status where u just mash buttons and win.

I felt that way with Warframe. Very little is explained, google is your friend.

Most games are actually easy to learn if you read because they hold your hand
This is a you being inpatient issue not a game being hard issue

These games were great. When I had the time. Now, I just want to pick up and play something instead of learning HOW to play something for 5 hours.
