2160p without RT: RX 6800. Lossless scaling on Steam could help or any FSR mod.

If software features matter to you, you shouldn’t be looking at AMD cards. The 6800 has 4GB more of memory, so it’ll be better at 1440p in the long run than the 7700xt. The wider memory bus is also a nice benefit.

I currently use a rx 6800 and no doubt it’s a great gpu.You can easily undervolt it and boom,you now have a very power efficient gpu with no noise at all.

Looking at specs in a vacuum means nothing. You don’t even have core count in there. Just look at game benchmarks and decide.
Literally the only thing that matters here unless you care about av1 encoding. Which I highly doubt.

software wise they are the same, hardware wise the performance is relatively the same the main diff being 7000 series have better raytracing but id rather go for 6800 because more vram and cheaper

Personally a went next step up to a 7800 XT. For me it was roughly an extra £60 for more VRAM.

Idk why you focus on features so much. It’s not like they make such a big difference especially if we’re talking about GPUs from the same brand. They share the exact same features. The most important characteristics for a GPU are power and vram. The 6800 and 7700 xt are roughly equal in power but the 6800 has more vram. They even have the same power consumption. In your case, when the 6800 is cheaper, it’s obviously the better buy.

I have a GPU with 16GB vram but most games barely use up even half, coding power above vram when its between 16 or 12

I just got that 6800 from xfx and it’s powerful as heck, vr… no problems, games I play are obviously not a problem, besides remnant 2 but it’s not optimized for amd side. Really depends on what you want but if you can snag a 6800 second hand for cheap then it’s well worth my dude.

Look at real world benchmarks and performance, not semi-meaningless card stats. Only ones that really matter (listed here) are price, VRAM (more important for higher resolution), and whatever software features you want. Bus width and clock speed are pointless to compare on cards unless you’re looking at 4k or 2 products on the same architecture (which these are not)

3080s go for about 350 bucks on eBay rn. But if you want to buy new get the 6800

7700xt maybe be a bit more expensive but you get two whole extra letters. You could make the argument that 7700 is also a bigger number than 6800 but it’s important to look at the individual values of the digits. 6 is lower than 7 and 8 is higher so it’s a wash. Hope this helped.
