What I mean by this statement is that throughout the story and also just people in general no one really really talks about the regular ordinary humans in the story.

I’ve recently found a YouTube video pretty much talking about the horror of black ops two zombies and the person was pretty much talking about the regular humans on earth trying to survive and I was looking stuff up on YouTube, but there isn’t really much at least from what I could find

Pretty much the only thing we get throughout the entire story of zombies is that people who ate the zombie flesh either hear Samantha or richtofen and are going crazy trying and fighting amongst themselves on who should they should listen to

On transit and die rise we get radios pretty much explaining what people are going through, but after that, we really don’t get much

I really do love the zombies story, but I do wish they showed how this is affecting other people.

This is the YouTube video that I was watching that made me make this post

Because world building is not at the forefront of the games. Also most of the characters you play as are larger than life or almost cartoony, and talking about what regular people go through would ground them in a way that probably isn’t super helpful.

The thing is we as players get involved in events of major magnitude.

What I mean by that is just as Richtofen says on his memories video:
*”In order to keep my word, I have done bad things, very bad things. I do not regret the pain I’ve caused* ***because none of it really matters.****”*

The things we have done in the storyline multidimensional chaos, and we don’t really need to think about how our actions impact the common folk, since everyone are just a small piece of a gigantic cycle.

    Put it like this:

You’re tasked to demolish an old building, you don’t really think about how it may impact insects or small animals, do you?

Because the story is very cartoonish in its presentation. The world revolves around the main characters and that’s it.

Hell, Richtofen *blows up the moon* just to disable the security measures on a life support pod, with no regard to the devastating consequences that would carry to that dimension’s Earth’s population.

The Dark Aether storyline did it far better in this regard. Most of the intel from the Onslaught gamemode is written from the perspectives of civilians who are getting caught up in the contagion zones. It’s pretty neat stuff.

  4. BO2 is the only game that really touches on this. Anything before is all mostly isolated outbreaks and anything after is too fantastical to even consider that the zombies were once people.

Cold war Intel shows many peoples reaction to being trapped in the dark aether
