Since I saw the same meme reposted for the 10th time, I thought I’d make something more accurate

I still have my hellokitty.exe mascot walking on my screen.

  2. Yuuzhan_Schlong

You mean the same 20 year old exe file I can run on my Linux with WINE?

  3. OP is literally Lol-face seething cope “I drew you as the angry face so I win” guy, as we speak.

  4. The_Baby_Rapper

This is not exactly true either. I suppose you’ve joined the war on misinformation, on the side of the misinformation? Windows good Linux bad. Linux good windows bad. Windows good Linux bad. Upvotes to the left. This argument is tiring and unproductive. Just use whatever you want.

This must be coming from someone who’s never actually tried playing old PC CD games on modern Windows. I have a Windows XP computer I use specifically for that purpose because 90% of them are completely broken or require community-made patches to work on Windows 10.

The steam deck is the only time I have found linux to be something I can use without wanting to commit sudoku

  7. im not even a linux fan but this is just incredibly incorrect on both fronts.

And none of you fuckers can Play the original Max Payne with no issues

*Stares nervously at Oblivion which refuses to launch on my Windows 11 gaming laptop*

    Are you sure about that?

The funny part is that yall are fighting shadows, in your Imaginations. You are not running 20 yr old exe. You’re opening up newest COD that costed you 1 TB in memory and 70$, that’s it.

Age of Empires 3 was (and may still be) incompatible with windows 10. I don’t have a DVD drive to test Windows 11.

I know this won’t be a popular comment.

Once you invest the time into learning linux, it’s great. Every game I ever wanted to run runs on linux, except for destiny 2. Destiny 2 has their anticheat setup to block linux users. Many users that talk about how linux is extremely difficult to use and finicky have not used linux in the last couple years. Linux has become very user friendly over the last few years. I had an incredibly easy time getting everything I need working and running.

I wish it was like that for windows I’ve tried to run the first fallout from it’s original disc , it can be installed in my win10 machine but the game doesn’t work, same with bully

Tell me you don’t know anything about computers without telling me you don’t know anything about computers.

Comments not going your way, OP? That’s cause you posted cringe.

    The power of DirectX

The very moment it is DOS or non DirectX Widows will crap itself figuring out what it is.

Good luck getting old CD games pre XP to run outside a VM

Ironically DirectX is so good that games based on it can run on linux, some of which are nearly older than the first Linux kernel lol

  17. hardlyreadit

You dont even need to lie this hard to dunk on linux. Just say online multiplayer game and youve won

Edit or just game in general

When it was time to upgrade to Windows 11 from 10 I decided to try Linux (Ubuntu, specifically). I’ll be honest, I didn’t last a week before going to Windows 11, there’s definitely something to it. If all I wanted to do was play sandbox games and do programming it would’ve been great.

  19. CosmicRefrigerator

Ha this is wrong on both ends. Windows 11 killed a lot of old software especially 32bit programs. Linux can play more old games better than Windows but only thanks to proton/steam. The meme is right about Linux though but at the end of the day programs will lose compatibility over time. Thankfully we have software like virtual machines and emulators to help prevent software from being unusable. At this point use whatever OS you want, both play games well.

Looks like bro’s oblivious of windows DLL hell. The missing lib.so thing is not unique to Linux. It’s a problem with the dev skill issues.
