Just rewatched this recently and it didn’t hold up as well as I remember but it also came out before the Matrix. So I think once that blockbuster came out with him this other gem got kind of forgotten about.
But I still loved watching it. Seeing Henry Rollins as the doctor, Dolph as the hitman it really brought me back to those awesome gritty cyberpunk days of the 90s. There’s no better grittiness to me like 90s gritty lol. And it had the music to go along with it

Black & white version is originally what they were going for. And it’s pretty cool. Like a cyberpunk sin city.

As I always do…I feel compelled to say that the Japanese cut of JM truly makes for a better movie. For anyone who hasn’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
Much more Takeshi Kitano
More Preacher scenes
Added scenes that fill in the world and relationships better
End hacking scene is edited differently and makes more sense
Happy Ending gone
Also…I wanted to like Nirvana but omg that movie is pretty bad. It could have been the version I saw, but it was kind of nonsensical. I appreciated that they filmed in whatever that abandoned area was which just fit the world perfectly…but aside from that, there’s very little I remember liking about it.

I always liked this movie. Haven’t seen it in years though. Would be kinda neat if they could redo it, but a little less campy

IN BLACK AND WHITE, WHAT

Ice-T: I’m your great white hunter.
That cracks me up every time.

This is the movie that got me in to cyberpunk in the first place. Also the reason William Gibson is my favorite author.
