If we’re going with the “cool tech” angle of cyberpunk then you’ve got a bucket of stuff to pick from including prosthetics, VR and AR goggles (not as wide spread yet but in some cases they’re very prevalent. eg. FPV drone pilots), and smartphones are more or less cyberdecks.
If we’re also leaning on must be tech AND have cool neon aesthetics. Neon as a major aesthetic died out many decades ago due to the cost of actual custom neon lights and the advent of LED lights. Plus other things like fast fashion eliminate things like individuality in personal aesthetics as well (to some extent).

I haven’t read anywhere near the amount of necessary dystopian fiction to agree or disagree with this meme, but I will say, reading the Neuromancer books, it is amusing how they have all this crazy cool technology yet still communicate with pagers lol
