Delidded 4790k overclocked to 4.8ghz daily with a z97 extreme4 mobo and what also is unfortunately being retired due to phanteks not supporting old coolers is the BEAST ph-tc14pe red edition. Only red chrome cooler I've ever seen, looks so good through glass especially since it's such a monster it nearly touches glass in most cases it fits. Also the 1060 6gb I'll probably give away as it still has some 1080p potential.

I've never seen a cpu go so long without a reason to upgrade. With overclocking it was outstanding cpu. Such a good stable build. Also still boots to windows faster than my new rig.

I had a 4790k as well. It lasted me until 2020 without even a repaste. I kind of feel bad about not treating it better.

Retired mine from regular use a year or so ago to use a handheld with an external GPU as a daily, but she still gets turned on and taken for a spin from time to time and never fails. Absolutely rock solid legend.

2 things, I loved that line of CPU’s my bro has the 4770 I think and he still daily drives it for work. 2nd thing that 1060, you gonna give it to family?

It’s a bit obscured in the photo, but on one corner of the shroud that 1060 says [“WARNING! THE MOST POWERFUL GRAPHICS CARD!”](https://youtu.be/KjlNzuum69s) it’s a weird thing MSI did *specifically* to their 1060 GT OC cards. Why? I have no goddamn idea.

May a chorus of angels fly the 4790 to its rest. One of the best CPUs ever made. We will remember it alongside the 6502 and 68000 chips.

    I used a 4790 from release until I replaced it 2 years ago with a Ryzen 7.

My test bench is still rocking my old 4790. Bulletproof CPU.
