My main problem is that I couldn’t make some japanese games to play correctly video cutscenes, even with modified protons like GE where added additional video codec support and should have support for FMV videos, in some cases best it gives video without audio or audio without video.

Bronze is they start, but likely unplayable, either because of a lot of issues or performance.
Silver is they work, sometimes, maybe most of the times, but unstable, or have bad performance, or require some tweaking.
Gold is they work, playable and more or less stable, but there’s still few issues, or require a bit of tweaking like setting launch parameters.
So, only 26% of games work as intended and as easy as install and play.

I tried to switch to Mint for my gaming Desktop and the main issue was a much worsened audio quality which appeared to be unfixable. Game compatibility wasn’t an an issue in any game I was playing at that time. I’d say it’s not an issue period as long as we are talking about Steam/Proton.

Guess what? Nobody cares if you use linux. Call me when linux gets even close to windows compatibility percentage. ~80% is not worth the hassle.
When buying games, people don’t want to go through loops to see if the game happens to work on their system, or if it needs tweaks to make it work. People want to buy their games and run them with 99.99% compatibility.
I guess there is an reason why there is only ~4% linux users amongst all pc users worldwide.
There are meaningful uses for linux for sure. But gaming is not one of them if you want care/hassle free experience with all the games out there.

I wouldn’t count Silver for regular users, but Gold and Platinum are plenty. So, %84 is more realistic in most cases. Which is great!
I have been playing games on Linux since 2009, and the progress has been insane.
And huge caveat being that Linux users will vote Gold if the game opens and Platinum if there are minimal issues. Example being “Gold but game stutters the first 30 minutes” “Gold, game runs fine just the cutscenes don’t work so watch them on YouTube”.
CS:S and CS:GO are meant to be native to Linux yet stuttered every time a new chunk of the map loaded in. Repeatable across multiple systems, however I don’t have an AMD GPU.

What’s wild to me as an Individual Who Games (who could clearly not even come close to Gamer status) is that everyone’s like “those are games every gamer plays” but (1) I’ve never played any of those and don’t want to and (2) I don’t know anyone who does. 😂 Community circles really are a wild thing. I know a handful of people who played LoL around launch and stopped after like six months because that was how long it took to become the most toxic playerbase in history, apparently.
I’m not saying everyone is wrong, obviously, I’m sure they have the numbers, it’s just funny to me as a major deterrent to Linux. For like five games out of hundreds of thousands… To me it’s like if Netflix failed as a company because they didn’t have Game of Thrones and Friends or something.
