Top would be sony enforcing pc players to make a playstation account, bottom would be games that require a 2nd launcher while booting them up on steam. Both are shit tho

For me it really depends on the context.
Their distribution platform is great, but from the game development side Valve is basically dead, at least for me.

  4. Nah Valve is great and disappointing at the same time.

Sometimes they hit us with bangers like Steam Deck or HL Alyx, then there are questionable releases like CS2 or straight up abandonment of TF2 and other games

I love our lord and saviour Gaben, but sometimes Valve is acting like a small indie company

Well im not a gamer then because when I see Valve all I can think yeah steam is nice. But man they can´t make games.

HL was historically a significant game sure but aged like bad whiskey.
HL 2 just a decent fps that ended on a cliff hanger and they seam to not want to finish the story.
Alyx was just a nice VR game for does who can afford VR.
And CS was not even their creation and Team Fortress was nice but I was no fan of the cartoon squeal.
And portal just a fun puzzle game but nothing I would praise. And if you look at it they have done Mostly FPS games basically.

Honestly I could not even make a top 5 Valves games at all.

Nah man give me Fromsoft any day. The souls games, The armored core, The kings field.
Or Capcom and monster hunter, Street fighter, Devil may cry
Ryu ga gotoku studios that made Yakuza series.
Square enix and all their glorious JRPGs minus 13 that game sucks.

allot games I grew up with before Valve even made HL does companies will for ever be my top tiers.

For me Valve is steam with nice sales and a good library of games I own. If they announced HL3 tomorrow I would go Meh Don´t care. HL just bloody overrated and I rather play Doom 2 or Blood or Duke Nukem if I want a damn good FPS that still fun even today.

So down vote me to hell but that how I feel after being a PC gamer sense the 1990s.

valve also makes most if not all gamers react like the second picture nowadays.

Besides steam, thats one of the services we use to play our beloved games, and at that its one of the better ones, Valve has been letting down literally ALL of its big gaming communities, TF2 continues to have one of the most amazing and talented communities out there and they STILL continue to be ignored by valve, casual lobbies are UNPLAYABLE and valve continues to refuse to even discuss it openly with TF’s community and they also do not even delivered promised content, CS is also completely broken with the most lazy port ever made to source 2, only introduced more bugs and this experimental tech to replace the old tickrate system that made hit registration completely RNG based, not to mention that CACHE is STILL MISSING.

Honestly, it’s so sad to see such great company fall off so hard, Valve used to care a lot with creating great games and supporting its community, now its only silence and once in a blue moon they release a experimental game that either flops completely or becomes the best game on the genre.

I remember a time I was happy to see the Ubisoft logo

I think we have Ubisoft, Activision, and definitely EA to thank for that one
