My parts picking strategy is normally just 1 tier below top to ensure a high end build without going all in on $ for diminishing returns.

Hopefully at one point you get disposable income though (which is kinda necessary for this hobby, at least to really enjoy the most out of it), and then the process becomes much faster. I would say experiencing the best on the market once in your lifetime is a worthwhile moment for people that enjoy the platform (and especially for those that champion it as the be all and end all). At one point, I was able to build multiple systems using various GPUs…and the learning experience for me was the AIO GPUs can kick rocks, all the fan ones I got functioned quieter and better in the long term (but that is probably biased considering the one and only AIO GPU I got eventually started to exhibit abnormal pump sounds years later).

you can make it as hard as you want. you want perfect cable management? custom watercooling? then its going to be hard.
for parts. you want best bang for the buck in your country? not so easy. you just want something that works? follow a general guide from this month.

Real! Building it was just like legos, picking the parts took me years, both to learn what parts use, to get a budget, and to learn when and where to buy them from.
Also, i think it has alredy been posted, but always fun to see it

Don’t forget to factor the cost of replacing it all after you either cheap out on the power supply and it burns up or you go all out for a 4090…and it burns up.
