Where i live it costs the same but delivers way faster and it is easier to return. I only order elsewhere if it is on a discount or if it isn’t available on Amazon.

amazon has some fucked up, and some really good prices where i live.
if something is +-2% the same price as at a tech-reseller, i’m 10000% buying from amazon. their buyer’s rights and compensations if something isn’t right are great and they deliver extremely fast.

I’ve found Amazon to almost always be one of the cheapest places to go (in the US) for tech. Go on PCPartPicker and look at how much stuff lists Amazon as the cheapest store currently selling that product. Not to mention cheaper+faster delivery. The only thing that Amazon seems to have terrible prices for is GPUs as most are from shops selling overpriced refurbished units not following second-hand pricing trends, or new GPUs a bit above MSRP/old stock being sold as “new.”
I’ve heard horror stories of people not getting the stuff that they ordered but that’s never happened to me in 10 years of using them and they’re more than happy to accept returns for up to 2-3 weeks after purchase. My entire PC (minus the GPU which I bought off eBay) was built with stuff bought on Amazon.
And about your title, these aren’t opinions but morose “facts people don’t like hearing due to old outdated beliefs big YouTubers haven’t bothered debunking” that often get me downvoted such as mentioning that plugging your DP/HDMI into your motherboard rather than GPU has no penalty whatsoever besides *maybe* the odd game or two for some reason running on the iGPU rather than the dGPU meaning that you have to spend a minute going into Windows settings to tell that game what GPU to use, or the fact that 16-guage PSU cables are hilariously overspec’d compared to what they’re rated for and that it’s perfectly fine to daisy-chain up to 520W + 75w PCIe power (260w per 6-pin. Some websites/people claim that up to 300W is fine but I’d err on the side of caution) assuming that your PSU is single-rail. Shunt modders have been doing it for years and it’s been fact checked by buildzoid and der8auer to be completely safe.

If not for Amazon, I wouldn’t have been able to build a PC. Guess it varies by country.

I used to use ebuyer but they aren’t the great service company they used to be. Wrong orders sent out days after the expected shipping date. Don’t blame you for going to Amazon.
The_PG_Account
I only use Amazon because they’re the only place that ships for free to alaska anymore, especially for the heavier tech stuff,
saxovtsmike
problem with amazon is that their customer service is a service and its good. I even go so far, that another shop has to a. gain my trust, b be cheaper,
I´d even go amazon at the same price, or worse a higher pricepoint, but customer service is worth it

Where im living, amazon is the only answer. Ebay can work sometimes but the prices are higher than amazon.

The thing with amazon is it has unmatched customer protections, at least here in the UK. I have never not been able to return something.

As a guy who bought a monitor, ram and GPU + 2 controllers from Amazon, every thing worked like a charm
IeXmen
You should spec only to minimum specs or slightly higher. High FPS reign supreme always even if your monitor doesnt get past 60hz; high fps simply mean less chance of rven going below the refresh rate.
Also, I use mouse assist or whatever its called for all games (FPS included) and also have a weird mouse positing fright infront of the keyboard (between me and said keyboard if that raises some eyebrows.
Hairless_Human
Amazon has the cheapest prices for me. Sorry mom and pop shops, but no, I’m not going to shop at your store when I can get the exact same thing from Amazon for $200 cheaper.

The customer service in Amazon is incredible, I don’t know if it’s because I have prime or not but they have dealt with my problems effectively and efficiently. The only thing wrong with it in my opinion is the prices being higher and priced wrong

Amazon in US can be like that. Amazon in EU, well, they have to follow e-commerce EU and local laws, which are very consumer-friendly.
In Germany you can return anything you bought online during a 2-week window without stating any reason, because lawmakers argue that “the consumer doesnt have the chance to look at the product with their own eyes before the purchase contract”
GuNNzA69
There used to be a time when it paid off to buy from Amazon. Nowadays, I just buy from local businesses. The price difference isn’t that great, and I’m helping the local economy.

PC people complain about consoles, when the the whole point of a PC is to have a moddable console
Lazy_Valuable_565
Hm, has become a group about Amazon really fast 😂
As for OPs question. I’m not if I’m supposed to be in the crowd with the swords or on the other side.
So, for option 1:
“PCs are better than consoles” (and vice versa) is a statement where I would really like to have a sword.
For option 2:
I actually think Blade Runner is not a very good movie.
Thanks

Amazon putting in work, if something comes broken or has defects I just send it back and let Amazon handle it no hassle on my part.

Where I live, there’s shipping prices for each and every product which doubles the cost of everything. Stock also seems to be limited so it’s hard to buy what I want. My only option is buying in a different region and using a third party to ship.

Or u can go on physical stores and make them rob you with their prices
the_Athereon
Aside from Hard Drives, it’s pretty safe to buy most tech through amazon. Their tracking and returns are top notch 90% of the time.
As for hard drives. Their packaging pretty much guarantees you’ll get a dud eventually.
Z_e_p_h_e_r
In general, I try to avoid Amazon for buying stuff that can be bought in a store. But if the price difference is just too high (50€ in my newest case), I just can’t justify it to not take the cheaper option (for the exact same product).

In Sweden Amazon has both higher prices and slower deliveries. We have lots of other Swedish online retailers that are way better though.
