Eh. Doesn’t have the touch pads. Not a steam controller. Just another glorified generic gamepad, only with a steam logo on its Xbox button.

One hopes that they’re planning a better one for the international market, if this pans out. It looks like a good controller, for sure, but it could be better and Valve has to know that.

Japanese gamers have historically preferred consoles to PCs by a large margin. The theory is that this thing is meant to cater specifically to Japanese players moving towards PC, to give them a familiar, comfortable experience.

Still don’t understand why they’d choose the asymmetric XBox-style thumbsticks, though.

  3. Super low budget cheap controller with no features, it was never a steam controller, just a controller that works on steam.

Cheap crap. I dont waste my time with anything other than 8bitdo now. If Valve was to manufacture it and have the same feature set as the Deck, i would consider it. Hori is basically dollar store junk.

  5. Nothing stops a person from importing these controllers. Not really a big deal in 2024.
