They could make more PC cases with cutting edge functionality complete with all the modern bells and whistles, but the external aesthetics and colors look like Y2K style PC hardware. They can produce peripherals with design variants and colorways that are directly inspired from the Y2K era of computing hardware. Imagine mouse, keyboards, speakers, monitors retaining the modern performance and functionality we have today but having an homage to Y2K aesthetic design cues. I believe this will greatly boost the already growing sales of computers towards the younger Gen Z crowd who have been taking on a renewed interest in the retro style aesthetic while also capturing the older demographic with nostalgia at the same time. Add in some intensive marketing campaigns further selling the more hopeful Y2K aesthetic and this will definitely reinvigorate and give a refreshing youthful vibe and to the PC industry, instead of the already tiresome gamey RGB, RGB, RGB galore. Many people from outstide the community will begin looking at PC's with a renewed light again.

they are trying to maximize profits so they make what the majority want not what a small percent of buyers want.
I’m all for sleeper builds, but I will never, ever buy a NEW piece of computer hardware with that cream/beige/yellow plastic shit. I’m more than happy to be using all black components with a very small amount of illumination for the things I need to see in low-light.

That’s cool and all but what I really want them to bring back is translucent/transparent electronics from that era. I adore the smokey black or atomic purple looks.
Y2K was about everyone being terrified all the computers would fail at midnight new years… I suggest using some phrasing that doesn’t bring up mass hysteria about tech disasters

I really like the cremé white / beige, well maybe not the yellow discoloration after 20 years of plastic deprecation and exposure to smoke and other gunk but as a kid playing around with dads windows 95 work PC it just makes me nostalgic, and I guess an OLED to get the proper burn in CRT experience.

Eh, we’re getting there I think. The naturalist look is all the rage these days. Clean metal, wood accents, earthy tones/colors, and a little plant off to the side. Fashion is lingering a bit in the 90s nostalgia so maybe tech will get there.
Unpopular opinion. Those beige, bland, nicotine stained from factory, boring cases are rank. Hated them then, hate them now.
Nostalgia aside, I immediately associate 2000-2003 computers with dumbass Windows ME and constantly crashing and blue screens. I don’t think about power. I think about slow, slow, loud computing that just crashed all the time.
I do want to design a case based on computers like the Mac 2 and others.
