Depending on how exactly the eye implants work, they could be revolutionary. I’m imagining that if they have a direct link to the optical nerve and not just a “screen” implant to the original eye, we could see a huge improvement on the quality of vision (our eyes are not really well “designed” with only providing sharp and color vision near the fovea, and very low resolution near the edges of vision. Modern CMOS sensors provide uniform resolution – although they suck at SNR and Dynamic range compared to our eyes.
Also, having the ability for XR built into our eyes would be amazing. No need for computer screens anymore. Full immersion in games, without any added bulk on the head. Any number of “screens” during work, even when on the go.
I also think that a set of synthetic lungs would be awesome – one part is the physical endurance, but another one is resistance to respiratory diseases. Same with a synthetic spleen.
Our feet are also quite badly “designed”. Modern prosthetics made for running can surpass the performance envelope of natural feet if the ground is even enough. With ~50 years of technological advancement we could have really cool feet that accelerate our running speeds to be on par with other mammals with 4 legs.
Markku_Heksamakkara
Optics, just with some utility. Like flash protection, zoom and light amplification.
Seeker-N7
Cyberdeck and eyes.
Everyone’s saying Sandy, but what are you gonna do with it? Go to your office job with better reflexes?
Gwenisbaee
Honestly, I wouldn’t choose combat implants. Cyberdecks would be useless unless I just want to blow up my neighbors microwave or play Never gonna give you up on their TV. Sandevistan is high grade military ware, causing unnecessary strain on the body, and Kerenzikov drives you insane by permanently slowing down your perception of time. I‘d say stuff like Kiroshis or enhanced eyesight or a Biomon would be the most useful irl.
Suitable_Schedule_33
Kiroshi‘s. Just wanna no longer need glasses.
Jack_Void1022
