No shit, I took my audiobook and reorganized it so it flowed better.

Honestly can’t even imagine reading Neuromancer for the first time in the mid 80s. Even now, first read-through to get the flavor and second read-through to actually follow what’s going on.

Ya I never finished it. Still wanna try again at some point though. The amount of in-universe jargon is kind of ridiculous though, and there is just no context for most of it.

Yep, just read it this month. I really wanted to like it but i didn’t. But hopefully I’ll like the TV show more, hopefully it’ll be easier to understand and visualize what’s going on .

Took me two tries to “get it,” though the first time I just wasn’t in a reading mindset. I would have put down any book during that period.
But the second read through it clicked, and now it’s probably my favorite book.
There is a lot of slang, but quite a lot of it has since been adapted into the modern real-world lexicon. Cyberspace, the matrix, flatline… those are common words nowadays – some of which originated with that book. Sure, there are more slang words that didn’t cross over into the real world, but it’s not THAT bad…

Neuromancer as an 80’s/90’s anime with ghost in the shell and Akira styled art would’ve been fucking awesome
