Try replacing the card yourself, maybe ask one of those poor sods who got their cards without pads

You can sometimes find cards at Goodwill, maybe try there?

Very carefully, apply a graphics card yourself. There are videos on YouTube showing how. I recommend the Verge, their build guides are excellent.
