I wanted to open it for fun and I just saw that it seems like MSI forgot to remove plastic protection on thermal pads from the cooler.

Open the card, void warranty. Don’t open the card, can’t tell what’s wrong…

MSI is short for MIStakes, they even misspelled their abbreviation.
Yea they fucked up. Put on new pads and repaste with something like thermalright TFX. Card would be a awesome first GPU for a beginner or kid.

One of the pieces literally says ‘remove’ on it? What else could it possibly be?
I was looking at the pads themselves thinking it’s possible that the protective film was embossed and it got imprint into the pad itself but then I looked up lmao
MSI doesnt even always thermal pad the vrms etc. notorious for it. The worst 40series cards.
