The terrible state of games “journalism”

  1. Who needs an easy mode in Elden Ring when the real challenge in life is navigating news headlines?

  2. Guaranteed last click on that person’s articles for eternity.

It’s pretty funny but WAY too many people only read the headlines to make a joke like this.

This is why Journalism should become a protected profession.
No relevant education = you are not a Journalist, just a random blogger (so people know to put less value on your writing quality and act accordingly).
I mean you cannot simply decide to call yourself a Doctor or a Lawyer, those titles are protected so people know they are not dealing with hacks.

So why should every average Joe be able to call themselves a journalist? There is an actual several year long educational path for that you know…

Won’t solve everything, but it will at least push a few low-tier hacks out.

you may want to look up what “journalism” means though.

So game journalists have to lie to get views, meh nothings changed much.

The only easy part in EldenRing is to click the Quit button

Misleading “journalist” is correct. It doesn’t have a *new* easy mode: Intelligence and Faith builds were already part of the game.

If there was a difficulty setting maybe id actually enjoy the fucking game

Elden Ring has always had an easy mode. PC with mods.

  11. But it does? And always had as part of souls, called coop with friendly phantoms or magic. Now there’s even the summonable npcs with the ashes.

And I’ll argue that it’s way more satisfying when it’s built into the gameplay and lore rather than just adjusting some meta slider.

  12. Clickbait.

But journalism of any kind had always been saturated by clickbaits.
