Assholes from China will sell HDDs and SSDs for cheaper (about half price or lower) and fill the drives with nonsense. This is a supposed 2TB drive (packaging is legitimate) but the contents are a 160GB Hitachi drive

A lot of people from my country got scammed before the company was banned from a shopping site

‘about half the price or lower’ and you still fall for it, what can i say, you deserve it?

A Hitachi from 2009 no less! Quality piece of hardware right there.

  3. Then stop buying shit from China! FFS how many brain cells does it take to get to understand that?

Buddy bought a 2 tb hdd for most likely less then 10$ and is complaining he didnt get what he paid for but he actually got what he paid for. Lmao

That’s what happens when you buy things from temu

  6. If you’re shopping on Amazon and you see an SSD for half the price of anywhere else, it’s sold by a third party, and *you still decide to make the purchase* then it’s really on you for getting scammed.

If the deal seems too good, it is lol

Don’t buy from third party for this exact reason

    > (about half price or lower)

Why are you guys still shocked you get scammed when you fall for such deals that sound too good to be true in the first place.

  10. Even if it WAS Seagate are you planning to lose all your data?

Sounds like the people from “your country” are pretty fucking stupid.

    >from Chine

    >about half price or lower

Do you really need more red flags? At this point we can even say it is your fault too.

That hard drive is definitely infested with spyware.

I use to have a hitachi drive like that and it was loud. It worked alright thought. A lot of servers in the past used these drives. 3gb /s and 5400 rpm is on the slow side. I retired from the old mechanical drives.

  17. ITYM: “Never buy HDDs from a third party” …hth

Couldn’t even make it a 7200rpm? That’s it. Fisticuffs. Let me at ’em!

  19. Wiikneeboy

I like how you don’t even provide a link to where you bought this. And the date on the hard drive is from 2009. Nobody is selling old hard drives these days. Sorry but you’re not fooling anyone here.

“Do not cover this hole”, sounds like you should have, to prevent insertion.
