This is something that has confused me since Cold War.
Weapon Kits would not only allow more freedom of weapon variety, but would also allow players to use more of their MTX (Blueprints) in their games.
Loadouts force you to keep your base spawn gun the entire game if you want to use your blueprint/custom weapon. Not only is this system worse in practice, id also imagine it’s not as good for convincing players to buy MTX.
Loadouts make no sense overall and also diminish the need for Mystery Box / Wallbuys. (and no, i’m not a BO3 purist. I just think this system makes no sense to return).
which do you prefer?

I prefer the WW2 and BO4 systems. It gives you a better degree of flexibility while also not being too strong.
bring back IW style weapon kits
Fuck loadouts. Simplicity of weapon kits is where it’s at.
Weapon kits but keep all the cool upgrade stuff from Cold War
In CW, you can change your weapon kit in-game in the pause menu.
Weapon kit is way better.
Loadouts don’t force you to keep your base weapon, lol.
Cold War had a thing called Custom Mods, which worked exactly like weapon kits, where each weapon in the game had 10 slots for you to save whatever combination of attachments, camos, blueprints, weapon charms, stickers, etc. you wanted. Then you just had to pause the game at any moment in the match and choose the option to apply custom mod to whatever weapon you were holding, regardless if you got it from the wall, box, or ground.
But if you only played the game on launch or never played at all and base your opinion on videos, you can’t know that.
Vanguard zombies and MWZ don’t have that feature because they’re just an afterthought, rushed by a B team, to attract people into buying the game.
The whole “loadouts make the game easier and ruin the feeling of progression” argument is valid. This one you brought up isn’t.
