The ending where you get “cured” and saved by the NUSA is the single most depressing ending I’ve ever seen. Period. I said fuck that, saved songbird, and did Don’t fear the reaper.

Quiet life: The Tower isn’t the only option choom. There’s The Star which is a much better option and a likely chance to find a cure, especially now we know it can be cured with the technology available.
The Nomad clans do have major contacts with organizations involved with genetic engineering such as the Neo Corp Storm Technologies.
The Tower is the opposite foot of Path to Glory AND the Devil. Because you sell yourself out one way or another.
* The Tower: You sell out your morals and ethics for a cure, damn your relationships and bow down to an authoritarian organization. Damn a friend as well to the point everyone in the ending specifically questions “this….story, did we make the right choice?”
* Blaze of Glory/Path to Glory still has you selling yourself out: But to fame and glory. Your loved ones **will** leave you and your friendships and associations are fraying as you focus more on more on rising to the top.
* The Devil: You sell yourself out to the Devil of the Cyberpunk universe and give an authoritative monster effective immortality. You betray yourself for a hope to a cure and one that Arasaka can just shred anytime without a care for honor.
Cyberpunk is not about going out in a blaze of glory, but one about survival- it’s also about not bowing down to authority and saving your humanity.

I don’t hate the tower because V’s life is pathetic in this outcome. I hate the tower because you have to kill Johnny rather than Adam in this outcome, and that is so insulting after watching edgerunners

This is why the Star ending is the best. There are no happy endings in Night City, so you get to leave Night City altogether with Panam.
