Mountain biking yesterday above Morro Bay, and that's the view of where Night City is supposed to be. How close do you think it matches?

Matches somewhat, although this is without the terraforming Robert Night had done. Much of the landscape especially around morrow bay would be brought down to reshape the area that became Coronado bay. I believe overlapping it IRL that it’s around Keiser Park that they chose to dredge entirely?

Heres the 2020 map, unfortunately there’s no map of it from 1998 when it was finished and renamed from Coronado City to Night City after his death:

Also a bit of lore behind it, unfortunately for you, Morro Bay was a ghost town in Cyberpunk due to the Hell’s Angels biker gang decimating the city and driving people out, allowing for Robert Night and his Corpo backers to buy it (Arasaka, EBM and Petrochem) and the surrounding land.
