Anyways what in your opinion is the worst launcher?

  1. I think you got it the otherway around, steam and epic are more of a 3rd party launchers than ubisoft or EA own launcher.

But yea, they suck, Epic too imo.

I don’t think you know what third party means.

There is a valuable piece of information you are missing

So first party would be you the gamer. Second party would be the game title or software you purchased, and third party would be valve, epic, ubi, ea, and all the rest. What I think you meant to say is that there should be a limit of 1 third party per software purchase per platform, that allowance is for the platform that you bought it on.

So if you bought on steam, then steam may be the only third party launcher allowed etc.

I’m just saying this because every other person is commenting and nitpicking this point, so I’d like to offer the most comprehensive answer and discourage further commenters from pointing out the obvious and whatever discussion that you meant to invoke can now continue. I hope.

Worst launcher? Hot take, but Rockstar’s. If you need admin rights for anything in 2024, you’re doing it wrong.

In general though, I use Playnite which means I barely have to deal with launchers individually.

And still yall keep supporting them financially. You get what you pay for

  7. dankbearbear

League and Valo never launched from anything but the Rito launcher.

  8. Known-Pop-8355

Rockstar, EA, and Ubisoft have TRASHHHH LAUNCHERS. Its soooo bad.

  9. First-Junket124

Those are also all third-party launchers for the most part though? Also if any of them listened to random redditors we’d be utterly fucked.

  10. Aggravating-Dot132

I get the message, but you messed up with the naming.

Steam, Epic and so on are 3rd party launchers. Except if you play Half-Life/CS2/TF2/Dota2/LFD2. The same with Epic and Fortnite.

You should name is something like “Main stores (Steam, Epic, GOG, MSStore) should ban the usage of the additional launchers”

Like bruh, I shouldn’t have to have steam open and launch after I purchased and downloaded the game.

  12. DrWhoIsWokeGarbage2

Wait, would you rather 200 separate launches.

  13. GrizzlyMofoOG

Those “third” party launchers you’re talking about are the first party launchers and the launchers you think are first party are actually the third party (most of the time).

But all launchers suck including Steam, Epic, and Microsoft.

  14. ShaxxAttaxx

Microsoft is the biggest culprit I’ve seen on steam. With cyberpunk I can block it but Microsoft makes it so you download MFS in the goddamn game instead of through steam so it voids the return window

  15. do_you_know_de_whey

Hmmm is this bait or just stupid

  16. Sex_with_DrRatio

Why the hell do you even want launchers, when you have shortcuts on the desktop

  17. TravelingGonad

Everyone used to hate Steam, but now it’s like some people won’t play unless it’s on Steam.
