    I dropped $250 or so on a 128gb crucial c300 in like 2010. Been solid state for OS ever since.

    My first ssd was the Intel X25-M 160gb in 2010. Cost around $400. Still works. Never been on a HDD since, lol

    Oh I remember my very first large capacity external hard drive. It was a LaCie 1TB… for $799.99, back when 1TB was insane.

    My 60GB OCZ Agility II is still going strong, cost just as much. But you can’t imagine how much faster I loaded into Modern Warfare 2 than everyone else 😏

    I remember paying about £80/90 for a 240gb ssd, now you can grab a 1tb nvme for that as much if not less lmao.

    My first SSD was a 120 GB drive I bought on Black Friday for $120. Windows 7 booted so much faster with that.

    First started computers with the Mac Plus. We sold an External 20Mb SCSI hard drive for 1500. A 9 pin dot matrix printer (that probably still turns on today) for a grand. And a 4Mb RAM kit (4×1) for 1200

    Edit: If we sold just 2 systems with peripherals a month we made rent and salary for the staff.

    Yeah, I remember paying 220 for a 1tb SSD back in 2016, granted I still use it so it was definitely a good investment.

    I paid $200 for a 32GB OCZ Vertex SSD back in January of 2010. I had to customize the Windows installation and get it down just so that my Windows install wouldn’t take up the whole drive.

    But damn, having an SSD back then for the boot drive when it was pretty new was super badass.

    I convinced my parents to drop. $50/megabyte to upgrade our 386 from 4MB to 8MB of RAM.

    Edit to add:
    People thought we were nuts. “What to do need all that RAM for??”

    Saw a 12 TB external at Walmart today for $260. I was tempted to buy it just to springboard my thoughts of starting a Plex server.

    When it’s that or spinny rust at 75MB/s and only of you’re lucky enough to get a sequential read? Worth it.

    My first was just over £500 for 512mb (well 488) back when the exchange rate would have made it almost $1,000.

    Man I paid more than $1 per GB with my first SSD, when they were they shiny new hotness. My god was that an upgrade though

    Ordered a 2 TB this guy (Samsung) for literally half this price.
