This update is bigger than nearly every game on my ps5 combined!

Because they know the people who still play COD in 2024 are stupid and that they will just roll over and deal with it.

  2. why are you even doing this then? I mean yes it sucks that an update can be this large but I’m pretty sure you can alter the installation of call of duty so that it is smaller.

And if you can’t accept this then don’t play it. A lot of other games out there even a few similar to cod, try XDefiant for example for that fast paced gameplay. It’s also only 30GB to downlolad…

Why not? They already know you have zero standards or self-respect

It takes me about 30min DL that you just have slow internet service

  5. Satiharupink

at least your internet speed is nice. i need like 30 minutes for one single GB, and that’s fast compared to what it was a year ago

  6. Nevaroth021

Would you prefer they don’t update the game? Call of Duty is a really large game, so any updates that replace those large files with new files will also be really big.

they are giving you time for touching grass and taking clear air of outside and thinking about the life before wasting time by playing this game.

Because the people Who cares are almost non-existant, and many of the others Will try to shut any complaints (doesnt Matter how valid they are) as whiny babies or too poor to spend in more SSDs with more capacity so they shove them as no valid

  9. Elevator829

They want to make sure that the only game you have installed is their latest bullshit

  10. fourleggedostrich

Maybeif we stop rattling on about graphics like they’re the only thing that matters in a game, then developers won’t need to push insanely high resolution textures out as updates

I haven’t played CoD since MW2019 and it’s because of these ballooning install sizes. I know you can lower it a bit by choosing what parts to install over others, but having to install a 50-70gb launcher JUST to install the actual game is ridiculous! I have better games to use that space for than a mobile game style monetized, $70 full priced game. (I primarily play on PlayStation and don’t subscribe to games pass)

Because people like you download it and buy the new one every year. It’s kind of like Stockholm syndrome.

  13. Wilsongav

They needed to adjust to whatever the current propaganda is and needed to re make the game.

Standard answer: Because you touch yourself at night.

  15. Tenshin_Ryuuk

Thats because on playstation you download the full game + the update so they can insure there wont be any file corruption

  16. SoloDeath1

Because CoD fans are idiots with no self respect and the devs know y’all will just deal with it.

  17. Good news it gets worse. Wait for BO6 where its 300+ gigs the most unoptimized game next to ARK

  18. FrikkinPositive

I had this same problem with the same game franchise 10 yesrs ago…

  19. StuLuvsU87

CoD is horribly optimized and they do next to no compression of the data. Why? They want you to dedicate disk space to it to force you to abandon other games, boosting engagement and retention.

  20. Rexo-084

As soon as I saw mw2022 had an update that was like 60+GB I just uninstalled it, never played it since

  21. LightBringer81

That would be about a 30-40 Minutes download in a decent country where gigabit is standard, then we would wake up with our hands in the potty…

  22. VengefulJan

Cause buying it tells them you’re ok with it.

  23. SeventhSealRenegade

Because you all let them. That’s why it’s allowed. Stop supporting game companies that treat you like literal industrial farmed poultry.
