  3. Is it just me or is there actually no explanation as to why? The closest thing resembling an explanation is “it turns out our 8 cores are so good we don’t need TDP”, but like, *why* are they so good? Is it refinement, die shrink, or simply assigning a needlessly high TDP to the previous generation?

    Conspiracy theory: They want to ditch the x3D because it’s a clutch that limits power draw. That’s why Intel doesn’t implement it.

    Considering how well the 7000 series runs in eco mode, it’s not surprising they were able to make some tweaks and drop the 105w variation. I mean, having the 7700X and 7700 was a bit redundant.

    Been looking at sff builds and itx builds for sale. Im curious why people still buy intel when they run at much higher tdp and run hotter too. Hasnt it been this way since 2020 with the 9900k? I used to be intel only but amd offerings really make it hard to beat. Loving the 7840u on my GPD Win 4. Even put a 4tb 990 pro in that bitch (has a 2mm copper heatsink).

  8. We already knew this with 7900x. Change PBO to 65 watts and you lose a few percent of performance…..
