This is a banana peel. It’s the discarded outer husk of the soft banana fruit. Usually, the soft core is exposed from peeling back this husk. The fruit is then eaten and the outer section discarded. It’s technically edible, but it’s not very good, much worse than the softer treat within.

It is a tropical fruit known as a banana. This one has been consumed.

It is highly usual but not impossible for them to be magnetic in any way. This one may be valuable.

Don’t freeze it or it will turn brown.
