hey, I mentioned I was building an Akira inspired recumbent ebike last fall, and here it is.
pretty happy with it, needs a few tweaks, but overall I love it.
it’s not an attempt to recreate Kenada’s cycle perfectly, more loosely based on it.
I’m heading on to my next bike project next month, but will keep this one around for fun.
I spent a lot of time doing the wiring. it has a semi truck horn, front headlights, rear and front turn signals, a 350w head unit with a 7″ touch screen, front and rear cameras with night vision, reverse, cruise control, 6 second electric fold-out kickstand, and a top speed of about 60 mph.
the body panels are made from corroplast, with a car wrap layer applied to Amerilux sheet over that.
I was going to build a trailer with some wild features, but decided to change up the project completely and work it into my next bike.
