I don’t understand why Microsoft would concede their console to Sony. They (Microsoft) get 30% from developers who publish titles on their console. Putting all their games on Playstation would kill their console business and diminish their brand. Soon the limited choices will be; get a Playstation and buy Microsoft games $70 and up (maybe future price increase), or pc/pc handheld and subscribe to gamepass (there’s cloud gaming also).
Will everyone be ok with Nintendo and Sony as the only two console gaming platforms on the market?

Seems fair, also at this moment this vague reassurance is pretty convenient. With Switch’s successor looming and waiting to be revealed, I’d expect Xbox to not fully address at what extent their games will be ported to other consoles, not only because they are still deciding which games/franchises go multiplatform, but what games could actually run on Nintendo’s yet to be announced console.

If 15 of those games interested you yesterday, you’d be better off buying an Xbox/PC and playing them with Game Pass rather than dropping $70 on each title.

Microsoft should absolutely keep games like Call of Duty multiplatform, but Bethesda and Blizzard should go exclusive to PC and Xbox for any new incoming offerings.
Doom: The Dark Ages can absolutely be a system seller on its own.
