It’s entirely about whether you judge the value of the benefits of pre-ordering (in-game/out-game items, discounts, earlier access, playing the game at launch, making sure you buy the game when you have money or whatever) to be higher than your assessment of the risk of pre-ordering (game could be bad/a waste of money, higher cost of playing at launch vs waiting for sale etc).
Just don’t take the risk and then whine that it didn’t work out. Pre-ordering involves risk – and no one’s forcing you to take that risk. If you do it and the game is bad, that’s the chance you took.

I don’t have enough money to pre-order (or to buy games on day one) anyway lol

I mean, some of those preorders worth bank eventually… *strokes preorder copy of Chrono Trigger complete with box and goodies lovingly*

Last time I got a dick in my mouth from pre-ordering was Cyberpunk 2077. Only pre-orders I had since then are all Fromsoft games, FF7 rebirth and Remnant 2.

Here’s a reminder that that very episode ends with an advert telling you to preorder their new game, Stick of Truth, that this episode was a low key advert for.
People quote this episode all the time, and totally miss the joke.

I *very* rarely pre-order games and usually only when it’s from a series I’m already a fan of and know for sure I want to play the new one. Like I’m a huge monster hunter fan so I actually did preorder rise and probably will with wilds as well (pretty safe bet that it’s going to be good anyway) most of the games I buy and play have already been out for a while though

I only pre-order of which I’m 100% sure I’ll like. For example: I pre-ordered Elden ring and also pre-ordered the dlc. It’s a guaranteed hit for me.

So, what you are saying is I can have big dicks in my mouth for less than what I pay Joe at the corner?!

It’s people who pre-order digital games I don’t understand. It’s not like it’s going away or unavailable on release day.

Instructions unclear. Pre ordered silent hill 2.

I know people get frustrated at others preordering games, but as someone who doesn’t preorder, I don’t really see why it should bother me.
People spend their money in ways most others would disagree with, myself included but if they want to do it and can afford to, more power to them

Pre-orders only make sense when there’s gonna be limited supply on release. Digital games are never limited in supply. Pre-ordering digital products is dumb.

Welp, I did pre order my first game for the first time last year and oh boy did I get a whale dick in my mouth with it… Game is payday 3 btw, it sucks ass beyond comprehension

Forgive me, father, for I have sinned. I have preordered for the second time in my life: Sparking Zero. It wasn’t an easy choice to make, but I had money in a holiday giftcard I wouldn’t otherwise use. For my transgressions, I will commit to 40 lashings upon my back.

Pre-order. Don’t pre-order. Do whatever you like.

I’m gonna preorder even harder now.
