Ah, living the gamer dream! How’s the grind treating you in WoW on the Series X?
Yeah, but to do so you need to buy another $10 a month subscription. And that’s on top of a world of Warcraft subscription which is also $10 a month. So unfortunately- no thanks.
But I do believe Xbox should port WoW to Xbox natively. I don’t get why they haven’t done it yet, they already implemented native controller support, and they also have an unofficial addon which actually adds fully customizable controller support for Xbox, PS5, switch and steam deck controllers. They could just implement that into the port.
Not only this, Blizzard have said they want to start appealing to new players, And they have the entire console market untapped, just sitting there with millions of players who’ve never played PC MMOs. And their only competition is FF14 and ESO.
And with blizzard apparently restructuring their entire story department and making a new specific team dedicated exclusively to WoW’s story for the next few expansions. And seeing how they’ve changed the game mechanically to be more like FF14 in the upcoming war within expansion, with an emphasisis on more solo content, less time wasting, accessibility etc. I feel if done right, a console port now, with an influx of new players, kinda like a soft relaunch, could bring the game back to that level it once was. I think it’s time.
Are you able to mod on the Series X?
Not to be a downer, but I played WoW for 15 years (not bragging, it’s shame if anything) and the community can be extremely toxic about not including you if you can’t download and install “required” addons like DBM and a few others.
I hope they thought that part through, but knowing the blizzard of today I doubt they care.
