I work at a small computer manufacture store as a side hustle (I mainly go to uni). Last week a customer left me his GPU because it had some temp issues, but I didn't have the time to look into that and repair it (we primarly build PCs for large industrial companies like Siemens and had a huge order that week).
Long story short: He bought a brand new GPU because he absolutely needed to game that weekend and left me the old one.
I replaced the thermal pads, paste and gave it a good cleaning. Now it runs like a hamster.
TL;DR: I benefit from people with major patience and game-addiction problems, WHO doesn't care about throwing away money lol. I am now one RTX 2080 TI richer 🙂

um where do you work where you can just keep someone old gpu.
normally has to be over a certain period of time. requires you to reach out to customer. best buy we had to send a certified letter in the mail and was like over 30days. might have even been 90.
