Is it a lot of story and cut scenes? Or is the lore and stuff explained more environmentally?

I really enjoyed the first one.
The 2nd one just felt like a step backwards with the story and lore, even Aloy seemed to lose her character growth from the first.
Managed to finish the 2nd game a bit stuck on finishing the Burning shores haven’t felt the desire to pick it up again.
Really hoping it does get a 3rd though and it improves.

When and if you get into the second game (Forbidden West), don’t look at the story as a new story but a continuation from the first game.
Many people compared and said the story on the 2nd wasn’t as good. But they are hoping for some fresh idea like the first. That’s not possible since it’s actually a continuation. Think the movie Matrix. The 2nd (and 3rd) movie will never match the first’s story wise since it’s a continuation and the freshness of creating that first idea was already presented in the first movie.
Just think of the games as one long game and you won’t be disappointed. I loved them both equally.
