A really cool cinematic trailer for a boring first person PVP shooter, never seen that before.

Oh yeah, because watching people shoot each other in a generic setting is just so thrilling and innovative!

  2. Real-Variation-8681

It’s already been said, but it looks like it has the writing of a MCU marvel show.

Idk what it is, but the best way I can describe it, is that the whole tone of that entire 10 minute cinematic was basically just the same overdone millennial, pseudo-self aware *record scratch* “well that just happened” writing. I’m sick of it dude.

  3. Guardians of the Barrio looked quite decent until they showed actual gameplay…

  4. nicklesons

    -Guardians of the galaxy dialogue

    -Overwatch gameplay

I’m sure Concord would have been real popular in 2017

  5. smoofus724

The setting gave me vibes of like Cyberpunk mixed with Star Wars. I thought it looked pretty cool and then I said “is this going to be another hero shooter?”

    Of course it was.

  6. CookSwimming2696

I felt the same way with ESO trailers. They’d show the coolest shit just to be like “yeah it’s an mmo with PS3 graphics”

  7. PastPsychological340

I’m gonna wait for a playthrough to hear the many cringe one liners.

  8. Lootthatbody

They showed concord and marvels rivals in the same show. Those look like basically the same game, Overwatch imitations, but one is using marvel characters and the other is not. It seems like such an odd decision that they’d show a competitor to their own first party game in the same show. Like, aren’t they also releasing at the same time too?

  9. johnperkins21

As soon as I heard the words “5v5” and Pvp I immediately skipped to the next title. What an incredible waste of time and resources.

  10. They threw everything at this “ok uhhhh that just happened” 10 minute trailer then just added another marvel hero shooter with spider man in it 5 minutes later.

  11. Mikkelzen

ah that game I know exactly what that is! /s

  12. TheFeelsGoodMan

What got me is that they borrowed so much of the character dynamic from Guardians of the Galaxy that it makes the whole enterprise look like a knock-off. The freewheeling team leader whose half-formed plans get the team in much more trouble than they would otherwise be in, the female second in command who takes the job much more seriously and scolds the leader for his lack of solid planning, the proud warrior guy… it would have been nice if they had mixed things up a bit.

As for the game – congrats on making Lawbreakers again.

  13. I agree, trailer looked very interesting, then gameplay showed and i was SO disappointed.

  14. jimschocolateorange

Also, that really strange “each month [could’ve been week, I can’t remember] you’ll get a cinematic, deepening your understanding of these colourful characters” it’s paraphrased but it’s so, so fucking misguided. This game is dead on arrival and it’s HOPEFULLY the last remnant of Jim Ryan’s abysmal live service push.

  15. veryblessed123

That Concord demonstration was beyond lame.

Crappy live service gameplay. Plenty of micro transactions (im sure), cringe Marvel dialog and characters.

    Hard pass.

  16. Revo_Int92

The gameplay looked fun, a technically impressive game all things considered. Overwatch is a early PS4 game, the Marvel game also looks cheap, it’s on purpose because these games are supposed to run even on toasters to attract as much people as possible. Now this game looks more “modern” visually wise, but goddamn, the characters and world look generic as hell. I wish these devs were working on the Marvel game instead, because the charisma of the Marvel characters would cover this deficiency

  17. SlySychoGamer

I mean the gameplay looked cool, but ya its DOA if its pay to play

  18. Game seem generic but if the gunplay is good, people will play it. Reddit is way too pessimistic

  19. Paddlesons

I used to be really into awesome game trailers because they were difficult to make back in the day and indicative of the effort put into the actual game. Now the opposite is true.

  20. sizzlinpapaya

This seems a few years too late. If it was a single player adventure then I would honestly be a bit more into it. But right now Marvel Rivals has all the ” overwatch ” like hype and honestly one of those at a time seems to be the max.

If you liked the cinematic of this please go play Guardians of the Galaxy. Such a fun game.

  21. polski8bit

I handwaved the cinematic, because everything seems to go the Marvel route nowadays.

But after seeing the gameplay, I immediately went “Oh… Yeah, this looks like a multiplayer game of all time” and promptly switched to a different tab to wait for something more interesting.

  22. Jarroisthebestrobin

Concord is not for me. I don’t really like shooter games outside of Destiny. SS is probably the only other shooter I’ve like as the gunplay and traversal feel good and RS understands the loot part of it as well. Loot is huge reason the gunplay is fun though for that game

  23. ThatEdward

The trailer reminded me a lot of Redfall’s cinematic trailer. That initial teaser reveal thing from last year looked really neat, and had great music, and my reaction to seeing this is what that was for was complete disappointment lol

  24. This would’ve been fun like 6 or 7 years ago. I really thought it was going to be a single player RPG… couldn’t believe it when they said it’s some 5v5 FPS shit.

  25. Rukasu17

Lmao, trend chasers can enjoy their lame reception

  26. jguess06

Lmao at first I was like, I don’t know what this is but it looks cool! I’m intrigued. Then they started showing the actual gameplay and I skipped ahead to the next trailer.

  27. sir_chill

They just get your hopes and interest up and then smack you with generic multiplayer looter shooter pvp gameplay. Again and again.

  28. Liberteer30

For real, can these companies stop making PVP games. We have enough.

  29. RobKhonsu

I missed the title at the start and got really excited thinking that they finally made Beyond Good and Evil 2 for a minute.

Didn’t take long for disappointment to set in.

  30. Sweaty-Professor-187

The very second they opened with a cinematic trailer instead of directly with gameplay I was like “this is just gonna be a bland Overwatch clone, isn’t it?” Lo and behold.

  31. kagemushablues415

Cinematics are outsourced to separate studios. Game couldn’t follow. Oh well.

  32. GolDJoja

Thats what happens when you try to attach a interesting story and cool characters to a pvp shooter. Most people just care for one thing. If you want story and character make a singleplayer game. If you want a pvp shooter, make the character generic and focus on the gameplay

  33. kynthrus

Really looked like an awesome Brute Force successor until it started showing off everyone’s 2 powers. Then I got real sad.

  34. thegreatmango

I don’t know where I’m supposed to be to see whatever this new game is, lol.

  35. ComprehensiveArt7725

This is ass like really sony wtf do u see in this garbage we cant get a new killzone or socom but we can get this trash & fairgame smh 🤦‍♂️

  36. Mindestiny

I called it about 10 seconds into the trailer – yet another hero shooter. Which sucks, because it seems like it would’ve been a *really* cool story driven single player FPS

  37. Shake-Vivid

It’s like they never learn from their mistakes. Unbelievable.

  38. Gamesanime_fan

I look forward to watching the new cinematics and never playing it.

  39. Tolendario

weird sitcom vibes and pvp action do not mesh together in games for me, this reeks of shareholder “inspiration”

  40. What’s even cool about the cinematic? Just bunch of colors and boring words slapped together.

  41. Yo_Wats_Good

It might be good, but I was disappointed as soon as they said 5v5 fps game. Would’ve liked to play this sp game.

  42. purple_parachute_guy

This game feels about as inspired as a ham and mayo sandwich. Pass.

  43. fondue4kill

It looks like Overwatch hero shooter with Destiny gunplay and Guardians of the Galaxy quips. Could be interesting but hard pass for me.

  44. Expected Guardians of the Galaxy at home, got Overwatch at home instead.

  45. Strongpillow

I couldn’t get over how boring that gameplay looked especially after they showed off Marvel Rivals. I have no clue who needs another one of these games at this point.
