Patch 3 was an INCREDIBLY heavy patch with insane amounts of fixes and additions. The community was all over it, lauding the studio. And I would be too. That much for extra heavy CPU usage is worth it.

Context for patch 3: It was a massive update that fixed a TON of bugs, added a ton of stuff and even implemented native Mac support. The amount of stuff they added and fixed in patch 3 was worth every percentage it increased CPU utilization

This game is CPU heavy. Would like to see comparison vs 14700k and 7700x. See how much does benefit 3D cache actually helps in BG3.

Is this why every time I try and take an action there’s a roughly 6 second delay?

Something I always hated about Baldurs Gate 3 and it teaches every other studio the worst lesson imaginable. If you make the game itself good enough, you don’t have to optimize it. Game has always had shit performance, I didn’t know they made it worse though.
Rudradev715
but the amount of fixes and additions in patch 3 is so good though.

This is like Vanilla Skyrim vs some Skyrim Essentials modpack.

It’s a CPU-bound game, you’ve discovered nothing lol.

If you watch the video they fixed it by Downloading another save for the internet, patch 3 fi$@$ their save game, that’s why performance tanked

Everyone called me crazy the last year to 2 for saying this!
This is getting stupid. I’m about to just buy a console and call it done.
The days of optimizing a pc are gone imo. You can do it, but you have devs doing stuff like this.
I shouldn’t have to have an overkill pc build to run games at a constant fps over multiple patches/updates.

Sadly this dude watched one video and not the whole thing, they tried with a different save. Proving the performance is prob due to the save file had issues as patch 3 had a ton of fixes.
Highest average pre-patch from the chart: 132
4070 ti: 132.5
7800xt: 112.7
A770: 80.8
Highest as of the video from the chart:

7800 xt: 124.5
A770: 79.8
This post is good proof people need to watch the entire video, and how people can be manipulated by carefully selected information.

Why tf is patch 2 so op they nerfed it?
Yikes. Wtf they do in patch 3?
Source?
Jesus, what the hell did they do in Patch 3?
Honestly it looks like the game became CPU/engine bound. Which could be related to an NPC AI overhaul or similar.
Would be interesting to know what’s causing this.
What the f they did in Patch 3?²
Huh? What happened
