Yup. I’ve seen a number of nods to other cyberpunk works.

  2. King_Buliwyf

Not likely. Cyberpunk doesn’t strike me as a game/genre that connects much to Gibson and his works.

Neuromancer is considered a massively influential work. And even in those areas that don’t touch in exactly the same areas, many people will call Neuromancer one of the godfathers of cyberpunk as a whole.

Looks like it! I also found a cooked netrunner on a rooftop who had a pack of Yeheyuan cigarettes nearby.

Half the game is derived from Neuromancer. The main story is borderline a ripoff of the plot of Neuromancer.

  6. If you’re going to find one anywhere, wouldn’t this game be the most logical place?

Techno necromancers it is. I knew those reptilians were bullshit.

Yep. You can also find the TTRPG’s sourcebooks and accompaniments within the game.

  9. DescipleOfCorn

The whole game is a Neuromancer reference

The picture likely is, but the book is a reference to a supplement book for the original cyberpunk ttrpg.

The whole game is a neuromancer reference.

Yeah, I’m reading it now and it’s like I’m reading a Cyberpunk 2077 novel but it’s obviously more original. Some pretty damn 1:1 references I didn’t expect to see.

of course. if you are familiar with the novel you’ll find them throughout the game.
