If your talking about art, it’s not just Shadowrun. A lot of modern RPGs have developed a very clean, nice neat colourful art style that conveys very little emotive qualities.
Probably a partial reason for osr books being popular right now. Often they are fun to look at and read.

I find that most edition’s art reflect the actual game quite well.
6th ed from what I’ve read and been told seem to be about flashy finishing moves and all, so the art probably fits well.
