“verify and the repair” has now automatically started a complete redownload of the game, thanks for that I guess
this is at least an improvement to where it would previously error out, give no indication why, and it took crawling the forums online to find someone recommending the reinstall it would take to fix it.
Microsoft is making progress :’)
