Depends on the user. A computer is definitely better in every technical way, but there’s some people I wouldn’t trust with more than a switch.

Say for Gamecube, some people want dolphin emulator (PC), with uprezzed textured and high frame rates, while I myself prefer to play on legacy hardware.
If it’s a modern game like Armored Core, Elden Ring, Resident Evil etc. PC gaming all the way, absolutely. Newer games are meant to be played at higher resolutions and frame rates, and a PC is gonna do that best, though PS5 and xbone make a serious argument in terms of their price to performance value comparatively.
But once we’re looking at games from like Xbox 360/ps3 and those prior, I prefer to play on actual hardware, jank and all. Maybe a soft mod to the console if it’s easy (PSP mode is obscenely easy, took me 30 minutes the other day, hilariously fun)
I think I found a middle ground that works for myself.

I do have a decent gaming laptop that I bought for 70k 4 years ago, but it cannot run newer games at more then medium settings and I do not had the budget to upgrade to a gaming pc , as it will take atleast 1.3-1.5l . On the other hand , a Console would give me the seamless experience at just 50k (Excluding monitors).
In future I will get a gaming pc setup but for now with the price to performance, console is better option.
If you’re gonna say pc can do a lot of things ( i still got my laptop that can handle the work I do).

I mean all a console is, is just a PC with restrictions to only play games from that developer/company.
PC beats consoles just by being more free and doing more stuff with it, but you are also not gonna get console experience by building a pc for 500 dollars

I think that, at the moment, buying/assembling a pc it’s the best choice. After 4 years i still don’t see a reason to buy either an xbox or a playstation, compared to, for example, the last gen were i had a ps4

Some people just wanna sit down, turn the console on, and play games. You don’t have to worry about drivers, part compatibility, tweaking graphics settings to get it just right, etc. You just turn it on and play, and most people are fine with that and don’t care about or need the versatility or extra performance of a PC.
