The $150 wasn’t a bailout it was a legal settlement because MS stole code from Apples media player and got sued for it and lost.
Apple had billions un assets as well, they weren’t going anywhere.
I find it crazy how in 2011 this sub was teens fact checking console peasant and now its just a giant myth spreading machine and nobody can be bothered to even to a Google search before posting or believing this nonsense.

Aren’t a lot of companies like this? Amd only exist because intel gave them a bunch of money and firefox because google pays them. Can’t wait for the next round of bankruptcies because they can’t offer infinite growth to their shareholders.

To be fair, Microsoft was under an antitrust lawsuit at the time.
They were saving their own bacon by creating competition.
ok i agree that both companies over charge.
but enough people buy their products at the prices it doesnt matter
apple is more of a fashion statement status symbol than a product
and nvidia just has the best gpu on the market with the most features so it cost more. better at AI than AMD and CUDA
Dreamcast was so bad it almost bankrupt 2 companies.
