So l have got an offer ta exchange my 1650 super either with one of these cards! Both of these cards are used and I gotta add 350USD with my 1650 super to get either of the card! Now the thing is, I had rx 570 before this card and I never liked amd softwares or drivers! 6800 has slightly better performance and 16gm vram, whereas Igame 3070ti only has 8gb vram! Im super confused on which one to get! Im personally very comfortable with nvidia drivers! Most of the time I play CS2, GTA 5, Forza horizon 5! Im not a full time gamer. I just occasionally play games.

Even though, 3070ti can be better in some old games, 8gb of Vram is just dumb.
3070ti is better for 1080 and vram is not an issue … YET … will be fairly soon. But … it ages much better then 6800xt, because RT is much faster and DLSS always looks better then FSR. Still …6800xt is faster card in almost all scenarios other then RT and has larger Vram.
Radeon RX 6800 has better performance.
I was given a PC with these characteristics ^ and I still regret not returning it and buying the parts separately. And of course I wouldn’t buy 3070 ti in this case
6800 is better in every regard, still confused and doesnt know what to pick. Damn some people really cant accept to try amd cards
Replaced my 3070ti with a 6800 due to vram issues i was facing at 1440p (last of us, resident evil 4). Love my 6800 because it’s cooler, less power hungry, and 16gb vram is more than enough for a good 1440p experience.
Since you’re gaming at 1080p, it won’t affect you too much, but some games are using enough VRAM to cause visual downgrades. Blurry textures and pop-ins are some of the symptoms when you run out of VRAM. I can imagine that in a game like Hogwarts Legacy and similar demanding games, you will run into those symptoms if you decide to use a 8 GB GPU.
3070ti sells around $350-400 on ebay if you add $100 for 1650 you can get RTX 3080 maybe get lucky with 12GB model.
6800.
More vram, the card uses like 70W lesser than the 3070Ti (bravo amd!) while having exactly the same performance.
Check if the seller sells several amd card : maybe he is a miner, if he is, don’t buy it. Cards used for mining are almost dead.
For the 3070ti, only if you really really prefer nvidia and change often your video card, because 8GB will be soon an issue and also don’t care that the card eats a lot more power for the same performance.
Among the many reasons to go with the 6800, here’s one some may not consider. Ease of use with Linux. Nvidia cards are becoming easier to integrate but I still run into issues with them. I never run into issues in Linux with my AMD cards. Just an additional reason for ya. Price, power, efficiency, in some ways consumer support, in some ways longevity (depending on your use of course).
And yea, I am biased. I have tinkered with configurations enough that some of the issues people run into with AMD aren’t as hard to navigate for me due to the amount of time I’ve been with AMD. In my experience, in a normal windows build with lower resolution I don’t really run into configuration issues with Nvidia as often. That said, do a fresh install with the new card and tinker away
If u care more for frames and stability 6800 but if u wanna run ray tracing at any point or do editing or recordings the. 3070 ti cause ive found that nvidia cards are best for recording
Ray tracing and DLSS are what you are missing out on if you go AMD. Better value and raster performance per dollar is what you gain. You also get to be proud that you are not part of the Nvidia hive mind.
That said, I go the Nvidia route every time, but I also just want the best of everything with no concern for cost.
AMD is probably the better answer.
If you’re a hardcore FPS player that’s looking for every little edge over the competition than nvidia usually has lower frame times than AMD but in this case the rx 6800 is the better bang for the buck
Idk how team red’s driver situation these last few years but the last one i had was a 5700 xt. The driver support was abysmal at that time. I switched to team green and never looked back. Plus…. team green just ray traces so much better. Just my 2 cents.
6800 for sure I had a 3070ti swapped it for a 7900 XT it all depends on the games you play as well

I had the same question when I was building my pc. I ended up going with the 6800 and I’ve been happy with it.
I was originally doing a 1080p build but decided to step into 1440p territory and that was the clincher.
Team AMD. They’re software and drivers have gotten leagues better in the last couple years. I have the 7900gre and it’s awesome at 1440p
I have a 6800xt and it’s awesome. You can overclock and under volt and it’ll rock pretty hard.
Not good for Ray tracing but really Ray tracing makes your frame rates so low with whatever card it’s a gimmick to me.
