
I'm trying to get some oc on my 5700X3D by changing the BLCK.
I've got it to 102MHz and got a decent score boost on R23 (from 13.1k to 13.4k), but now it doesn't boot and the mobo (MSI x470 Gaming Plus Max) shows VGA led.
I know changing the BLCK will interfere with USB and PCIe detection, but is there anything I can try?
It works fine with 101MHz and it boots with 103MHz, but anything over 101MHz will make impossible to detect the GPU.
Also even from 101MHz I'm losing 2 USB ports (the bottom 2), not that big of an issue for me tho.
I tried everything (even using same settings with 102MHz that worked the first time) but nothing seems to work.
The pics contain my settings so that you might spot anything wrong.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

this mobo doesn’t have an external clock gen? I assume not otherwise you wouldn’t see PCIE, SATA, USB dropouts above 101 lolol
so with that in mind when you change FCLK you are affecting multiple buses in the system. external clock gen would allow you to *just* change the CPUs clock but this is only on X motherboards iirc.
you have found the limit it seems.

He achieves 106, but his mobo has an external clock gen. The X3d CPUs as Im sure you know have core voltage restrictions in place in addition. I think you’ve found the limit of OCing with this mobo. Atleast with FCLK clock
personally, i’d set pbo+xmp and call it a day once i stab tested+thermals.
