The Top Fan is an exaust, i am training them currently to not sit on the PC, but i am just curious how bad that actually is.

It’s not ideal, but I’d just use a program to monitor your temps (with and without cat) and you can see how bad it is, in general your components will downclock if they get too hot so it shouldn’t damage anything.

If it’s good for you cat, who cares! 😻

Orange cat on a pc 😀

Not good.

Fur and static are bad for your PC
BrevilleMicrowave
You’ve got a dust filter, you’ll be fine. Only thing worth worrying about is temps.
cirvis111
Your pc? haha that was funny, everybody knows that is its pc now.
You can buy cat platform and fix that on the wall, maybe he will prefer that.

Oh look! It’s this post again.

The only real concern is hair and dander dropping into the PC. I’d recommend finding a heated pad or something for the cat to lay on. I.e. something with slots you can put on top of the case so it can vent, but be stable enough for a cat bed.
Now I’m brainstorming 3d printed stuff with magnetic feet and a silicone layer glued to keep a cat pad from slipping.

Realistically its bad and can lead to some serious damage, especially if you clean your PC once every year.

Your temps might be a bit higher, but don‘t worry about static. Yeah fur might get into the case, but it‘s going to be okay. You‘ve got a dust filter

I assume with PC you mean pussy cat, so I’d say as long as its willy doesn’t fit through the perforation of that dust filter mat, everything should be golden.
Otherwise: toothpicks.

It’s bad, but it’s no longer your PC so why does it matter
Major_Enthusiasm1099
Not as good as it could be but not as bad as you might think
Atome
the cat is cool
Sethoria34
Probebly not great. Cat hair can even get through even the best dust filter over time.
But for ure own health? its perfect!

My Cat has been sleeping on my PC for 3 years now…. No harm done. A little bit of extra dust gets past the filter and I’m sure technically my temps end up a little higher but not in a meaningful way. He is my gaming buddy and that is his spot!

If you have a watercooling system that sends the air upwards then it’s bad for your CPU.
If it’s on the side it’s okay but if you have fans on top sending hot air then it’s bad for all the pc.
Semarin
The danger from cat hair or static are wildly overblown. It will inhibit the dissipation of heat some, but I’ve never seen that be a problem.
What is a problem, and ask me how I know, is when they puke into the PC.
Guillaumex27
That’s not your PC anymore sorry
