I do have a job as a mechanical engineer and would buy this, but my wife and I are expecting a second child and in the process of buying a house. I want to upgrade soon, but my i7-7700k and gtx 1070 still work well enough for now.

good price. last time i saw 4060 system for $700 was last year november and december. but this one has more ram and more ssd storage. was a good deal.

In the pc industry margins are usually slim so I have no idea where they have any margin with this at all.

Yeaaaah, you did the right and responsible thing but damn is that a good deal! I just paid $1000 for a Ryzen 5600x, 4060, and 32GB DDR4 with 1TB SSD. That’s a helluva deal and I understand this very well could be “The one that got away”.
