In MW2, during the mission “Enemy of my Enemy” this conversation occurred
Makarov: “I’ll see you in hell”
Price: “Give Zakhaev my regards if you get there first.”
I believe after Price killed Makarov, Price started dying out, Zakhaev came to greet Price in the afterlife.
