I had a friend want to build a PC, I gave him a part list. 7800X3D, 4090, 32GB RAM, X670e Taichi, 1000w Seasonic, H7 flow, 2 tb sk hynix, all top of the line parts, was going to cost around 3500. Went to microcenter, he wanted a different case, different aio, made a bunch of random changes because he liked the way they looked, literally just aesthetic reasons. I thought hey it’s your PC you got to like what it looks like. Ended up costing 4k, and all his changes were basically “I want more rgb stuff” on top of it he refuses to play any games unless he mods them first because “I’ve played that on my ps5 before”. Problem is he doesn’t know how to mod the games he wants to play and he’s been telling me that he feels building a PC seemed like a waste of money. Meanwhile I’m over here with my PC having a blast. Smh

I ended up going with a BeQuiet! 1200w atx 3.0 80+ platinum rated psu (it was on a flash sale at the time and it was even cheaper than the 800w model I was going to buy), and it has been treating me very well.
It’s impossible to overstate the peace of mind that comes with having a high quality psu and knowing that your pc parts are taken well care of.
I also like that I can take this psu to any of my builds for the next 10 years easy, and not have to worry about buying a new one for any new builds for a long while. Not having to upgrade an essential part every time is a great way to save some money on future builds

My favourite is the people with 4090’s and like a Celeron processor then seriously asking if the CPU is good enough.
