Finally completed this "Easter Egg" after ~18 hours of hell.
Never thought that I would attempt this challenge after all these years, but I recently purchased Bo4 on pc and felt motivated to prove (to others as well as to myself) that I still have the willpower.
Wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy.
The 150 took a day and a half because my power went out on 113 the first day. My bedroom fuse is connected to the kitchen; so occasionally when someone (for example 😃) uses the garbage disposal, the breaker will trip and my room will simply lose power. You can imagine how AGONIZING a defeat that was.
I gave it a few hours, regrouped, and ran it back nonetheless—grinding like an absolute machine programmed for repetition and monotony. I was able to catch up to roughly where we left off late that night.
Rough road map:
– First day was a 1pm – 7pm shift, followed up by a 9pm – 3am shift.
– Called out of actual work the next day, feeling feverishly determined to show this challenge no mercy (Sorry post office).
– Left the game running overnight (historically super risky, but too delirious to continue). Curiously, it turns out that the game didn't track paused time for match totals.
– Second day was a 12pm – 6pm shift.
In short: we did it, boys. If you wish to attempt this as well, heed my advice: make sure to drinks lots of fluids, and eat snacks when your ragnaroks are down; stand up and stretch at LEAST every 1-2 hours, if not more frequently; and you'll probably want to time your caffeine intake around the halfway mark (roughly 40k kills) to allow you to mentally survive the remaining ~6 hours. Delirium is going to set in, but make sure you're still hitting those headshots with your shield pistol to ensure that you gain at least 2,500 points per 80 bullets fired. On round 149, I was below 20k points because my brain was cooked and I was missing shots + buying too many shield repairs. Perhaps it could also help to use a winter's howl/fury during insta kill to save on shield bullets, but I relied on merely the shield the entire run and turned out fine. The most important two things are to spam ragnaroks and wraith fires when your flowchart permits, and to always pay close attention to your points; if you notice a trend of declining points, you may be missing headshots/wasting bullets during "survival time" (the time when you're waiting for ragnaroks and wraith fires to regenerate, and thus relying solely on your shield).
Anyways, it was an adventure, and my eyes continue to ache 5 days later. But even as a 24-year-old ancient fossil who can't game all the time anymore, I still got it 😏.
The cutscene was rendered in n64 graphics after all that hard work. Thank you, Treyarch!!! 🙂

I mean, it can be done afk (even after 150, to 200+) if it’s such a big problem but nice anyways
