The UK Government is like “Do these nobs even realize that there is literal possibility of Russia nuking them at any moment ? What’s this “keep games in a working state” shit ? What world do these kids live in ? Are we in a Monty Python sketch ?!”

I’m going to try to research games beforehand, as I play single player only. If they need a connection, I just won’t buy. I’ve still got the Crew 2 to finish (though that irks me as it has zero direction), and Watch Dogs 2. After that I’ll probably stay clear of Ubisoft, which is a shame as I wanted to pick up some old AC games, and Star Wars Outlaws looks great.

I…. Dont agree with this petition. I really dont want every future game release to be extremely expensive from a long-term cost perspective. It sucks that the crew was made suddenly unavailable, but i dont think the solution for that is to make every game a lifelong investment for the publisher.
It never used to work like this. Heck, processor generations could make games unplayable back in the day.
I would much prefer that games a company no longer wishes to invest in be made available publicly after a specific period of time, with an open source license attached or something. Like what we see in abandonware webesites and community patching.

Do you want no more games with online functions ever? because this is how you get no more games with online functions ever.
