OP, check the card revision. The Gigabyte Gaming OC Rev 1 is made of ass and poo, the Rev 1.1 got an upgrade to fix the horrific power handling. The Soupy Windfart is still the worst but yeah, check your revision, Gigabyte did a bunch of upgrading to the original Rev 1 design.
I don’t think its out of the realm of possibility for someone to sell off a Rev 1.0 for $500, you pay the remainder in the lifelong tinnitus you develop from using it.
