
I'm looking for starting settings to be able to boot my 5950X with 2000 MHz FCLK with a 128GB kit of DDR4-4000 RAM (CL18-22-22-42 1.40V) which has 16Gbit Hynix MJR ICs. Not ideal, but high capacity.
With the XMP Profile loaded, the RAM kit should be able to do 4000 MT/s as advertised, right? Or is this unreasonable to try to get a 5950X to drive for some reason? I realize the RAM isn't ideal for overclocking, but I am only looking to get it to run at it's tested XMP specification.
Where would I start to attempt this from auto/defaults for the 5950X, and the XMP profile on the RAM? I can get it to boot and run stably in 1800, 1833, 1867, but 2000 and 1900 would not boot and I stopped at 1900. However, I have since read that many Ryzens have a hole at 1900 and can do 1933+ while failing at 1900.
- Bumping up some of the CPU voltages
- Which ones?
- Lowering 5950X base clock
- Adding a negative boost clock
- Increasing DRAM voltage
- Increasing the RAM ProcODT
- Loosening RAM timings even further than the XMP profile
- Something else?

Try booting with ram at jedec speeds and infinity fabric at 2000mhz.

Most 5000 series chips can’t hit 2000 fclk stable. 1866Mhz is your best bet at 3733Mhz ram speed. Especially if you are running 4 sticks. The memory controller probably can’t handle it. That’s why I went with 3600mhz cl16 and bumped it to 3733 cl16 is because my 5800x3d couldn’t do over that.
I see you’re running 4 sticks, with 4 sticks you’ll be lucky to get 3600mhz speeds. Try booting 2000mhz with just 1 or 2 sticks and see how that goes.
